fsSdlcRouteIdleMarkIdle Character on the SDLC Routing Parameters menu allows you to select transmission of Mark characters between frames, except after frames whose Poll/Final (P/F) bit is clear (off). Normally, an HDLC protocol transmits HDLC Flag (0x7e with no zero insertion) characters between frames. If Idle Character is set to Flag, the FRAD will continue to issue HDLC Flag characters in the idle state. If Idle Character is set to Mark, the FRAD will send solid Mark characters (all binary ones) in the idle state. The exception is that any frame which does not have the P/F flag of the command byte set (bit 0x10 of the second byte of the frame) will be followed by HDLC Flag characters. (This exception was explicitly designed for compatibility with IBM AS400s. However, it does reflect the actual state of an HDLC line over half-duplex modems.) The default for this parameter is Flag.rw
